Tagged!

I got tagged today by my Twitter friend @CheekyTart. I don't know why, but getting tagged makes me feel good. It makes me feel like important and special and popular and those are all really good feelings to have.

So let's start with this mini interview!

1- What’s your staple meal (ie. what meal do you cook most often when you can’t be bothered to be adventurous) ?
I'm not sure if I have ever prepared a meal by myself. I seriously don't know how to cook. Sometimes J.R. tells me what to do with the ingredients while he washed the dishes, but I have never done it alone. I wouldn't know where to start and how to proceed, so I don't really have a staple meal either. If I had to make a meal by myself... I would probably make something with noodles. You can never go wrong with noodles, right?

2- What do you want to be when you grow up?
I talk a lot about this with J.R. and I still don't really know. I think I would love to be a web designer or a web developer. I want to code for a living. I just don't know if my skills are ever enough for that.


3- What book are you reading at the moment (if any)
I just read "The Friday Night Knitting Club" today (I usually read the whole book in one day if I start one) and it was pretty nice. It's a knitting novel. I also borrowed the sequel, Knit Two, from the library too and I'm going to read it next.

4- How do you relax?
My life isn't technically so stressful, so I don't do anything especial to relax. I think I'm relaxed all the time. But the most relaxed I feel when I watch TV with J.R. and Papu, or when I'm reading a good book. Sometimes knitting makes me relaxed too.


5- What color are the interior walls of your home?
We don't own the apartment we live in, so the walls are all white. We have decorated the walls with signs, paintings, nice pictures, cool ads and some handcrafts... With all this white you really need to do some magic to prevent yourself from getting crazy.


6- What is your guiltiest pleasure?
J.R. and I eat super chocolate muffins (that I bake, because I can bake) when we watch the Biggest Loser.

7- What time is bedtime and getting up time?
I go to bed too late nowadays, but I blame J.R. He usually decided when we go to bed. I don't have a static wake up time. I would like to wake up 9am... but that depends on the universe and everything.


8- How long do you spend reading blogs (per day or per week)?
Google Reader Trends says it like this "From your 140 subscriptions, over the last 30 days you read 2,123 items," I have subsribed to way too many blogs, but I don't read them all. I usually just browse through the pictures and if something special caught my attention, then I read the text too. Only some of my biggest favorites get my full attention. Anyway. I don't think I can calculate how much time I spend reading blogs. I've lost the count by now.

I'm sensing something new... A blog post!

Apparently people are starting to loose their patience with me. You know, with me still not blogging. Except I'm blogging right now because I got tagged by Minttusuklaa. She's clever! She probably knew I can't resist any blog memes. I simply can't. They are a fabulous way to blog when you have absolutely nothing to say. I kinda miss having a life.



OK. Let's start. Here are the rules:

Here are my five senses:

Sense of hearing: I can always hear when J.R. is biting his nails, even when he tries to hide it from me. But sometimes I have troubles hearing what other people say, when they don't speak loud enough. It's very annoying! Speak louder, people!
Sense of sight: I can't see anything without my glasses, and even with glasses my sight is poor. I wouldn't want contact lenses because I think my glasses make me look smarter and prettier.
Taste: I'm really bad at tasting things. Seriously. If the difference between the tastes isn't strong, I think they all taste the same. For example I can drink five different cups of tea and think they taste the same.
Sense of feeling: I get shivers down my spine when someone touches my hair. I like to touch things that are warm, like Papu and J.R. Otherwise I rather watch things, not touch them.
Sense of being heard: I like to talk and I like to be heard. Sometimes being heard is more important than the things I say. I like blogging and twittering for the same reason.

I tag J.R. and Elina because I want new blog posts by them too.

PS: I'm old! I turned 23 like a week ago.
PPS: I forgot there's actually a thing called "sense of smell". Silly me.

Imagination Award

Almost a century ago I got an Imagination Award from Alexandra. I promised myself that I would post it "today", but "today" quickly became "tomorrow". And you know that you never really do the things you planned to do "tomorrow" tomorrow. You do them when it's almost too late. Anyway. I'm really flattered that Alexandra thinks I have imagination.

Here are my five things:

1. I HAVE A HOBBY!
When people ask me what I do, I can say "Well, I crochet and knit together with my boyfriend". And they will think I'm like creative and talented instead of boring. Crocheting is probably my first serious hobby in years, if you don't count getting bored as a hobby.

2. I HAVE SOMEONE TO CROCHET AND KNIT WITH!
We are the yarn-loving couple. We crochet and knit together, it's like the thing we do. I can't imagine our relationship without yarn anymore. And I love to watch J.R. knitting. I like the fact that he's so talented and that he's always there to help me with my projects. I never have to struggle with crochet patterns when he's around. I'm so blessed.

3. I'M A COMMUNITY MEMBER!
I love Ravelry. I love love love Ravelry. I love to share my projects, I love to stalk my Ravelry friends, I love to read the forums (I rarely post anything though), I love to search for new (free!) patterns... And I like the fact that Ravelry is a huge community of knitters and crocheters world wide and I'm a part of it.

4. I LOVE KNITTING BLOGS!
I've been into blogs and blogging for years, but things got far more interesting when I found knitting blogs. I never knew there were so many talented people out there! And I can read what they have accomplished and get totally inspired by them. I also love our own knitting blog, or to be more defined, I love J.R's blog posts. It's his blogging voice I like.

5. I ACCOMPLISH THINGS!
And it feels good! I learned how to do something, I'm doing it and I'm getting good at it. I'm not a loser. Not at all. I make things happen and I make things. I can be proud of myself. Finally.

I want to give this award to Elina and J.R. They are my favorite crafters.

Rock Star Blogger

So... Here are the rules:

I'm pretty happy with the random things I got: The band name is something geeky, the album name sounds utterly cool and the cover art is pretty awesome too. I have to admit that I really liked this meme.

And now to the hardest part... tagging others. I'm so not good at this.

Firstly... I tag Elina as usually. She's my blogging buddy.

Secondly... I tag Pete. Because he's into music and this is a music related meme. Makes sense.

Thirdly... I tag Ida. Because I like her amigurumis and her blog helps me learn practical Swedish.

Fourthly... I tag Mangolisa. I've been reading her blog since forever, but I haven't seen any memes in her blog yet.

And finally, I tag J.R. Our blog is not public yet, but he could use this meme for practicing blogging. Though I don't expect him to tag anyone.

I'm passionate about...

Lovely Lola from Fight or Flight has given me the Passionate Blogger award! She's super. I have secretly wished that someone would tag me to something. I think memes are wonderful, but usually more popular blogs get tagged instead of mine. I feel like a winner now.

Hmm... I try to choose things I don't usually blog about. Let's see how I success.

1. I'm passionate about... SINGING

I have never sang in public, but I'm always singing when I'm alone. I can't imagine my life without singing, it's been a part of it for so long. I would love to get few professional singing lessons to learn some techniques, but I'm completely happy with my current skill level too. I don't care how badly I sing as long as I'm still able to sing.

2. I'm passionate about... TEA

I used to drink coffee when I was a kid, but as I grew older I started to prefer tea more and more. Nowadays I dislike coffee's taste so I hardly ever drink it. It just has to be a hot cup of tea or nothing. I don't demand much with tea: I prefer black tea to the extreme and I like it with milk and sugar, but I can go without too.


Prince of Wales, my current favorite flavor. They don't seem to sell it in Finland except on tea bags. We got this suspicious looking bag from J.R's dad.

3. I'm passionate about... BAKING MUFFINS

I bake muffins almost every Friday. I always use the same recipe, but I modify it by choosing different kind of chocolates/sweets to go with it. I think I bake so much muffins because they go so well with tea, and they are also perfect to eat while crocheting and knitting.


These didn't actually taste as good as they look.

4. I'm passionate about... WATCHING TV

I really like to watch TV with J.R. We watch shows like Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Californication and Entourage. Our favorite is House M.D. but it's currently on a break. J.R. didn't really watch TV before we started to date, but then he started to watch TV with me and now he's hooked on. I've had such a bad influence, but like we have anything better to do.

5. I'm passionate about... BEING CREATIVE

Being creative is like the most important thing ever. I think I would eventually go insane (or become unbearably boring person) if I wasn't able to do creative things. Crocheting, knitting, gift wrapping... It doesn't really matter which craft I choose as long as I'm able to express myself with it.

Now I've told you five things I'm passionate about and it's my turn to give the award forward. But I'm going to break the rules now. I know only one blogger who is surely passionate, and that's Elina. She totally deserves this award because her posts are like oozing passion.

This is a meme post so I write this one in Finnish. I was tagged by Minttu.

Tehtävänanto: Kerron mitä minulla on päälläni, kun saan tämän haasteen. Tämän jälkeen valitsen seuraavat viisi ihmistä, jotka haastan tekemään saman perästä. Minulla on päällä suosikkifarkkuni. Kesällä siskoni alkoi himoitsemaan minulta 80-luvun Suomi-paitaa, josta hän tiesi etten koskaan käytä. Sanoin että suostun luopumaan siitä ainoastaan sillä ehdolla, että saisin jotain kivaa vaihdossa. Hän tarjosi minulle suoralahkeisia ja löysähköjä Onlyn farkkuja ja kaupat tuli. Näissä farkuissa on vielä bonuksena edessä muutamia reikäkulutuksia. Farkkujen kanssa minulla on ohut ruskea nahkainen vyö, joka on tätini vanha. Pukeudun mielelläni mustaan, joten yläosana minulla on H&M:stä vuosi pari sitten ostettu musta v-aukkoinen t-paita, jossa on hiukan rypytystä edessä ja hihoissa. Koruina kihlasormus ja kultainen sydänriipus, jonka olen saanut Aleksilta. Tylsää? I am.

I'll write this post in Finnish if you don't mind. This is a quite popular meme in Finnish fashion blogosphare. I was challenged by Kiki. Here is my answer:

Eli pelin säännöt: Jokainen aloittaa kertomalla 7 satunnaista faktaa/tapaa itsestään. Ihmiset jotka pääsevät tähän peliin mukaan kirjoittavat nämä 7 asiaa itsestään sekä pelin säännöt omaan blogiinsa. Sitten heidän tulee haastaa 7 muuta ihmistä tähän peliin ja ilmoittaa näiden ihmisten nimet omassa blogissaan. Heidän tulee myös jättää kommentti asiasta ko. henkilöiden blogeihin, jotta nämä tietävät ottaa osaa peliin ja että he löytävät ohjeet omasta blogistasi.

1. Rakastan elokuvien katselemista. En tiedä mitään parempaa tekemistä. Avomieheni ja minä katselemme yleensä kolmesta neljään elokuvaa viikonloppuisin, ja joskus silloin tällöin viikolla vielä lisää. Käymme aika harvoin leffateatterissa katsomassa mitään, sillä nörtteinä "vuokraamme" kaikki leffat DC++:sta...

2. Luen addiktoituneesti muotiblogeja ja muotilehtiä ja katselen muotiin liittyviä ohjelmia, mutta kuitenkin inhoan shoppailua täydestä sydämestäni enkä sen vuoksi omista mitään kivoja muodinmukaisia vaatteita. Minulla on myös selkeä ongelma rahan käyttämisen kanssa - en osaa käyttää rahaa muuta kuin sellaisiin asioihin joihin on aivan pakko. Toisin sanoen olen siis äärimmäisen pihi.

3. Äiti leikkaa ja värjää hiukseni. Oikea parturi on kajonnut hiuksiini elämäni aikana maksimissaan viisi kertaa. Hiustyylini on pitkä ja suora, joten mielestäni ei ole mitään järkeä maksaa suuria summia pelkästä latvojen tasaamisesta kun äiti tekee sen kerta ilmaiseksi ja aivan yhtä hyvin. Värjäystuloksetkin ovat aina olleet toiveenmukaiset.

4. Minulla on kahdet silmälasit, joita käytän. Ensimmäiset ovat siistit ja aikuismaiset ja käytän niitä aina julkisesti. Mutta sen lisäksi minulla on yhdet paljon vanhemmat ja rumemmat lasit, joita käytän kotona aamuisin ja iltaisin ja yleensä myös lukiessani tai tietokoneella, jolloin ei tarvitsekaan nähdä kauas. En näe niillä oikeasti kunnolla, mutta tarpeeksi hyvin jotta voin pitää niitä. Niiden linssit ovat myös kuluneet niin että ne näyttävät aina likaisilta.

5. Kännykkäni nimilistassa ainoastaan muutamat ihmiset koulusta ovat oikealla nimellään. Kaikille muille olen keksinyt jonkin lempinimen tai kuvaavan sanan. Minulla ei ole koskaan ollut vaikeuksia muistaa niitä. Tykkään myös pitää nimilistani mahdollisimman kompaktina, joten turhia numeroita sieltä ei löydy. Kännyköihin liittyen vielä, että inhoan soittaa puheluita. Pelkään aina että keskeytän jotain tärkeää. Kommunikoinkin oikeastaan pelkästään tekstiviestien välityksellä.

6. En osaa enkä halua laittaa ruokaa. Kokkailemisen tässä talossa hoitaa avomieheni. Valitettavasti hänkään ei osaa tehdä oikeastaan muuta ruokaa kuin tavallista parempaa spagettikastiketta. Syömme sitä siis usein. Ruokavalioomme kuuluu kiinteästi myös X-tra pyttipannu ja mama-nuudelit Rainbowin Mexicana-tonnikalan kera.

7. En käytä muita sormuksia kuin kihlasormustani ja kaulassani roikkuu aina avomieheltä syntymäpäivälahjaksi saamani sydänriipus. Mutta korviksia vaihtelen usein. Tykkään eniten riippuvista ja mieluiten melko näyttävistä. Kaikki suosikkikorvikseni olen tainnut saada äidiltäni, jolla itsellään on myös aikamoinen korukokoelma.
