Our new pet

More exciting news! We got a new mouse. Our old one didn't work properly anymore so we decided quite ex tempore to buy a new one. We went to Prisma because all the other shops were closed. The mouse selection there was narrow but we found one which was cheap (20 euros) and looked totally decent. This is how our new pet looks like:

I was surprised that you can get such a quality with just 20 euros. With this Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 by Microsoft you can magnify stuff with just one click (very handy) and scroll in all four directions. It's ergonomic and very comfortable in hand. And oh the silence when you scroll! I'm so happy we upgraded.

I got a use for our old mouse too. I'm going to give it to my dad. He has a mouse indeed but his mouse doesn't even have the scroll thingy in the middle. And I know that our old mouse works enough well for him... but I'm not sure if he knows how to use the scroll.

Movie Magic

Yesterday we watched the Illusionist. I immediately thought about the Prestige which is also a movie about magicians. I liked the latter better because the plot and the actors were better. Scarlett Johansson has a lot more depth than Jessica Biel. Biel is not even pretty. But the Illusionist was very visual and therefore very pleasant to watch. I don't care so much about the plot if everything else is from the top.

Anyway. The Illusionist is a very typical love story: A certain man loves a certain woman. They are separated by higher powers. They meet again but the woman is involved with other man. Bla bla bla. How many times have we seen this already? But these both movies hold one ultimate trick we haven't seen yet. You can do a lot when little magic is added.

Here is the official trailer for you:

After Viiala Update

I got two subscribers on Blogilista. My blog is on fire!

I'm back from Viiala and I have some exciting news to tell you: I got my bike here and I'm going to bike to school every day unless it rains. It's like 14 kilometres per day. I know it's going to be really hard in the beginning because I'm definitely NOT in the shape of my life. I have also put on a few pounds. Not much but it shows. I'm really concerned actually, but I guess that when the school starts all that extra weight just melts away. When I'm at school I don't eat so much plus the biking.

My school starts at Monday. I'm not excited about that. During the summer I realized that I would really love to study web design instead of this current oral shit. But I stick to my plans since I also know that there are plenty of geeks out there but not so many dental hygienists. It's definitely a safer choice. And I can study my geek stuff later.

When I got to Viiala I learned that my mother had bought me some shirts. One of them was bright green and it said "2hot2handle". She does not speak English and she does not understand that I only wear dark colours. I turned that piece down. But she also got me two black t-shirts. One of them said "got style!". I got no style so if I'm ever wearing it the message will be mostly ironic. So after all I'm perfectly ready for school (I was going to buy some clothes before it starts).

I'll probably post something more interesting tomorrow. And maybe some pictures too!

EDIT: Now I only got one subscriber. She/he probably found this post so dull that she/he unsubscribed. Shame on you!

Harry Potter sucks

One minor spoiler a head. No need to beware.

I have now read the last Harry Potter, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. And it was a HUGE disappointment. I expected it to be a breath taking experience. It was the last book, for God's sake! Most of the time those kids were just camping. CAMPING! In Harry Potter! And the ending was DULL. It was all wrong. It should have been a big battle or something. And there were just too many holes in the plot. I think this is unforgivable. J.K. Rowling used to be my hero when I was younger and now she produced this book that was just a piece of shit. What was she thinking? That she doesn't have to write well now when she's already loaded with money?

OK. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh here. It's not completely hopeless and if it was any other book than Harry Potter it could have been good enough. But as an ending of a world famous story it was totally not working. Can you hear me, Rowling, it is NOT working! Write a new one. Write a better one! Please! Don't let it end like this. Harry Potter does not deserve an end like this.

I'm not mad. I'm just sad. It's over. She killed so many of them and those who survived she never mentioned again. Will we ever find out what happened to them?
